Unfortanetly the QC board members don't like that idea, they instead want full control over the current forums to censor as they see fit to their own agenda.

as i was in the shower today (where all brilliant thinking is done) I was reminded of something (I am a history teacher as many know) I was just thinking about censorship, and how people who have been jailed/ killed over time for voicing their opinions that did not agree with that of the leadership. person Germany, even in the U.S. during wartime! I am not comparing the club to the person's or anything like that, but the teacher in me thought you might want to look at little piece on the History of Censorship... even our dear old friend Socrates was a victim of the man and now societies look to him for wisdom and as an example of how to think and question(socratic method).

also for movie goers... V for Vendetta is about this very thing among others!

Too funny Kelly, I just watched V last night. Very good, but not quite as indepth and surreal as the comic was.
As you can probably guess Mike and I hope to do as little censoring as we have to.

you replied to this before i had a chance to move it.. i thought it might be a good thread on its own.

when i put 'v' in i didnt really know anything about it, but during the first few scenes i was engaged... What were the directors trying to do? I mean the parallels between the futuristic english society and person germany were obvious even to a "dee dee dee" were they trying to call out governments of today and point out the direction where we are headed? or were they trying to make us grateful for the liberties we have? I decided on the first as scenes of the Iraq conflict came up...

anyway... yeah i was thinking about how the club is trying to control what people can say about the club... they are trying to hide the negative press. I mean that was the whole point of joining , to have a voice... but if your voice isnt what they want to hear... they arent having it... seems pretty stupid to me... We should call amnesty international... tee hee

Im thinking/speculating the club didn't like the lack of tact some of us, myself included, use when posting. It doesn't reflect well on discers. And could potentially drive away sponsors. I mean, if we had sponsors, which I don't think we do. I doubt we will see any less disc golf courses go in because of a message board, which is really reflective of may 5% of the DG community. Courses going in is because it costs way less then skate parks, and caters to a larger population. The message board isn't going to be a reason for parks to not want this activity.

Obviously you probably know if its acceptable or not, just use your best judgement.
