Need help finding right disc

Postby DragonGT83 » Fri Jul 18, 2008 6:23 am

i'm mainly new to this game and throw mostly forehand with good distance, but have problems with my discs wanting to go into a roll before it turns back over from an anhyzer. i've been working on my backhand and am getting better that way. would like to know what from innova i should be looking for that would be best for forehand shots or an all around balanced disc. if there is one.

For forehand, I've always had good luck with the following: Firebird, Destroyer, Monster. I'm really liking the Teerex-x in Star plastic.

he asked for something from Innova - let's not confuse him.

Try a Destroyer for your forehand - if you have some power it will work without rolling - Star or Pro - I find the Pro to be more over-stable.

If you don't have enough power for a destroyer than try the Wraith. I don't throw forehand shots much, but I've heard the distance guys use the destroyer.

The destroyer is a great forehand disc. Very long and fast. Wraith is good too.

Right now i have the SS Avenger FLX, star sidewinder(for rolling), and a star leopard for my shorter distance shots. i had a star beast, but hung on to it too much and lost it in middle of jones pond.

i'm going to pick up that surge and will also get the destroyer and wraith.

my best round has been a 63(18 holes). will post how it goes, i'm sure i'll do better, just need a lil help from experienced players.

The most consistant forehand disc is going to be a champion firebird. If your turning those into rollers you prolly arnt throwing it right.

consistency is what i'm looking for i guess. i've been able to throw my avenger forehand pretty well its just inconsistent through my round. i get it to curve left then come back right half the time, the other half its diving down left and doing a lil half circle after hitting the ground about 200 ft. out, not a full roll. i'll probably need a bigger bag as well when all is said and done

Go with the firebird. It is a great INNOVA  disc that I have had good luck with.

I found out from a friend I have a bad stamp one that is worth about 70 bucks :)

The Destroyer may be a little flippy for your forehands, I'd stick with the Wraith for straight throws, and the teerex for mostly stregith throws w more hyzer.

It all depends, but I'd suggest trying all 3, in pro or star plastic, and feeling your way through them all.

I throw forehand and backhand. I use Xcaliber for most forehand drives and the Max for shots that I really need to hook right(Max doesn't get as much distance though). Both are star plastic. I use Destoyer and Wraith for backhand shots but are not over-stable enough for a regular forehand drive. Although I use the Destoyer for times where I need the disc to go far left then fade back in a large "S" flight
