trash cans

trash cans

Postby veedz » Mon Oct 12, 2009 10:01 am

It seems like it would work well to have 4 or so trash cans along the road through the park that the city would empty when the others are emptied. The unofficial word I got was that the city doesn't own the course other than the mowed area in front and along the road by 15 until it is blocked off. The city is not responsible for the rest of the course.
Does anyone know the story on this?

That's the story they always give. They don't take responsibility for much of anything. I can't think of other sports that have facilities in city parks that get ignored like disc golf. Disc Golf brings visitors and $ to CR and they don't care. Too bad. :(

I thought they basically said if they can't drive to it, they won't empty it, and that was it? So...if they were along the road, they might actually get emptied.

That's why you see the park's guy at Jones driving his pickup across the course to pick the the two trash cans they have there. CR can give you a hundred excuses why they can't do something rather than just doing it.

We used to take the full bags down to the bathroom in the parking lot at Shaver and they would pick them up from there. (As long as they know ahead of time)
You may want to contact someone at the city parks department to make sure they will still do it.

They still do. Ive replaced the trash bags a few time this year and put them by the back road trash can.

Yep, we had carried the metric ton of trash from #4 out front before I posted this, and those bags were gone this week. Someone else had got the other cans emptied, too.

Thanks to everyone that has helped keep the course picked up!

Also I don't know what prompted it now, but I can say that leveling out the eroded path in front of #14's pad looks good.

If someone has some time tomorrow the city said I could take a truck up into the park and bring down the trash cans to the parking lot and they will empty. Get at me if you have some time and can help
