I can't wait to see Ewing with thick green grass in its fairways again. It definetly needs the relief but it totally blows because its about 10 mins away from my house. My second home... fuhhh

McBeth and Brittany should be making an appearance here and at LOD.

PLEASE PLEASE, for the love of GOD, can we play #9 Long at Walnut this year? I know it is hard work, and I love the work going into the event, but I would really love to play that sucker in a tourney play again. ( I of course understand about back ups at events as well.....but isn't #7 going to be backing them up as well? A good 2-prong spotter team on the hole should help. I realize staff is always an issue as well, but I wanted to plead my case as a weanie arm I love that shot.

If not, it's ok, I am still going to be heading up to the venue no matter what. On a personal note, looking forward to GV in the long set up for tourney play as an outta towner, and yes making the extra 30 mile trek would irritate me by moving the courses. There is a lot of love and history on GV over the years from many, and those of us old crusty types will enjoy being able to see everyone play on the same course. That is not often a feature that can be done in today's courses, many of them we don't have the option of yelling at someone 9 holes away and most of the course can hear us still....

I appreciate all the effort that goes into the courses. I will be hitting up you folks for 4 tee signs as well Jay, I will send you a PM on this.

Help make the event great by helping the people that dedicated to getting the event done. Nothing gets done on a course from behind a desk, so please visit your workdays and course preparedness days accordingly, this outta town guy likes to brag about Des Moines as the 2nd best city in the world to play disc golf......I am of course slightly biased.....

7 isn't really a big backup hole...Unless too many people are throwing it right into the woods. 9 in the long, followed by 10, will have 5-6 groups combined waiting/playing. We always hope to use 9 long's pad, but it's only playable a month out of the year. Always covered in water, or just a muddy mess.

The sad thing is it probably wouldn't affect my score on the hole that much......woods...woods....roll into the woods....putt....doink, drop in, yeah I may hit the woods one more time in the long placement.

My thought that was by having it longer, it may help alleviate #10 back up as well....screw it, put #8 past the dumpster ala old school style!

No, I get it, and yes it is always freaking a mess back there on #9, but I had to try......I mean everyone always tells me where I should put the courses pin placements in when I run an event, and I listen to everyone else idea......then of course say screw that I am doing it this way!

Just looking forward to some good golf with some marginal people.....DOH! Oh yes he did say that!

Seriously, one of the better places to play, and I appreciate all of the behind the scenes work, and the good times that i have had over the years, and the good times I am looking forward to having in the years to come. Even without Ewing....

Jack, I've always been an advocate for 9's long. Last time I was out there we played it and that was just a couple weeks ago. It will happen if the ground is absorbing all this moisture and I have anything to say about it.
