We put the "Ice" in Ice Bowl - Grinnell Freeze, Fe

Postby Eberbach » Tue Jan 15, 2013 5:24 pm

The lake is frozen pretty solid. If the weather holds we have three over / skip Ice shots and a handful off Ice adjacent holes to cause you trouble.

Plans are shaping up for our 4th Annual Grinnell Freeze Ice Bowl Tourny. This is a best-shot doubles event with a morning round, Lunch at Lonksi's (buy your own beer), and an afternoon round. A disc is included for the first 25 teams. If you don't have a partner, come anyway. We'll match up extra players that morning. We'll have at least a couple divisions and plaques for the winners and runner-ups.

I also forgot the price, ugh. $25 and 3 can goods per person, includes a disc and lunch. Here is the flier so I don't forget anything else.

Now we have Snow and Ice

Postby Eberbach » Wed Jan 30, 2013 11:57 am

This should be a great event. We have snow on the ground and ice on the lake. If the weather holds, 30's and sun on Saturday. The metal flake discs are in route and Lonski's will provide the food. Hope to see many of you in Grinnell Saturday morning! Remember, if you don't have a partner, come anyway and we'll match up extra players.

Good thing this is doubles. I plan on bringing a bag full of white discs to throw! Sign me up for the expert division!

Is it okay to tape LED lights to my discs to help find them in the snow?
