2012 G&L Clothing Challenge

Postby DLCdisc » Thu Mar 29, 2012 4:16 pm

That's right folks! It is time to register for the Challenge. First Class that has been good to us for the last four years has decided to withdraw from their role as title sponsor. G&L Clothing celebrating 95 years in business this year has stepped to the plate to take the role as title sponsor. A flyer for the 2012 G&L Clothing Challenge will be available soon and on-line registration is open. Check out the tournament website and stay tuned for more exciting details to come. This is gonna be another one to remember.

Mike Marcovis and his family are the owners. Mike plays disc and had talked to me about their interests. I followed up on the lead and here we are. Thanks for the kudos, but I am gonna have a lot of fun working with Mike on this and they are a good fit for this event.

Fantastic!

I have done all my work clothes shopping at G&L clothing since I've been in Des Moines. It's a great store with friendly service. I'm stoked they are choosing to sponsor The Challenge. Thank you.

The "Challenge" gets its name from the four courses that are played over the two days. If you are in any pro or advanced divisions, you will play Pickard, Ewing, Big Creek, and Walnut. If intermiediate, you will play the same courses except Grandview replaces Pickard and you play the short pads at Big Creek and Walnut. The pros last round and the skins finale is at Walnut on Sunday and the Dubs by the lake is at Walnut on that Friday. Its gonna be great! Get signed up soon and tell your friends.

I always liked G & L. Local, good merchandise, helpful staff. Now I love em. And it's great to get a local business name on there. Plus, this is a place that disc golfers can really support. Great place to buy rugged clothing suitable to Big Creek et al.
