Many of you probably saw my black lab "Blacky" throughout the years. As a pup, he and I walked the area that is now Treasure Cove long before it was a disc golf course. Blacky was with me during all the course development as well as my constant companion in all the installation. In his 13 years of life, Treasure Cove was Blacky's favorite place run and play, to chase squirrels, and talk back to the resident hawks. He played with the wild turkeys, tracked the frequent deer, and even saved me late one evening from a Mountain Lion by the baseball field (true story). Blacky was adopted by us from the pound when he was 2 months old and grew up with our 5 kids and 8 grandkids. Though I could never get him to find my lost discs at the Cove or bring my discs back to me, we spent many hours together dreaming about the land we loved to roam. Adam, my son in law made the bridge, Sara my daughter presented the plaque, and thus we dedicate the new plank bridge over the creek on hole 2 "The Blacky Bridge" Thank you all for joining in on the fun of guessing. May the bridge serve us well as we disc at the Cove.

What hole at the Cove

Postby wlbkr » Thu Jun 14, 2012 8:56 am

Any guesses on what hole this is at the Cove?

Bonus points for who is the mystery guest that showed up at dusk yesterday.

Nice Guess

Nice Guess. Aaron Martin has been spotted at the Cove recently, but not last night. Hint: our mystery person has competed at a National Disc Golf event.

This pics like the ones used to tell if Nessie is real or not.

Nice job Frank. That is indeed hole 13 at the Cove. The player who happened to be there late that eveining right when the sprinklers went on was Paul Bonk, a team member of the University of Nebraska, Kearney who travelled to the National Collegiate Disc Golf Championships a few years ago and who also runs our summer leagues at Hummel Park.
