It would be a giant leap of faith to pull that off, as I feel a lot of people will then not come. But trust me, it's been discussed many times and shot down. The problem is there are too many other tournaments in the state of Iowa that players feel are more important, there's not a lot of money at stake, it's not sanctioned, etc.
I think eventually if we can grow the popularity of the event maybe we can get it to that, kinda like the Texas Teams. In Texas, I believe that is one of the most important events to the players down there. Not that it's not that important here, I just don't think there's 72 players on board for a full weekend of it.
Thanks for the post.
I like this. What about 6 man teams, no limit on how many teams a city can bring...Every city could fill a team of their top talent, and then still have room for the rest of us. With 6 man teams, doubles best shot and triples alternate. Nobody would be excluded as long as they can field a full team. Would work best with an even number of teams, but if we had an odd number, it wouldnt be that difficult to not play one team in dubs, then play them in trips, for example....stover720 wrote: 1) no limit and see what city has the best possible players.
