I wasnt able to make it last night but I am in the works of planning a Ace Race for Tourist this year in August... 25.00 entry fee.

AS WELL AS a secondary tournament at Tourist (or even Deerwood) after the ace race. Obviously an ace race @ tourist will not take long at all.

Thinking about putting a lunch in between the two also.

With possibly also some alt tees there also. Can I get a yay or nay from some people who would participate?

Lunch provided @ Deerwood
and then a C-tier 2 rounds of 18 @ Deerwood
short, then long.

I love the ambition, however I see an issue with this format. Having run many tournaments I would suggest doing the events on separate days. The C-Tier alone will take up an entire day, let alone trying to run the event on the other side of town. The only way I seeing this format working is if everything is at Tourist; there's just not enough time in a to run an ace race in the morning and a 2 round C-Tier in the afternoon otherwise.

Fair enough, it just doesnt seem like the ace race will last very long. Its a pretty short course.

Also, might lose some people playing tourist 4 times.

I agree 100% that this format entirely at Tourist is not a good idea and would be a weak draw ........ therefore, like stated before, its probably not a great idea to cram both into the same day. Maybe run them on the same weekend back-to-back; one on Saturday and the other on Sunday.

The format is possible. Tourist plays quickly we play 36 holes there during league nights. Almost always done within 3 hours. If the ace race tees off at 9am at the latest, it should be done by Noon. (the rounds will have to be played straight through with out a break like we do on league nights) Lunch at deerwood would give an estimated Tee time for the C Tier around 1:30. In Aug we should have daylight until 9pm ish, allowing 7+ hours to play 2 rounds at deerwood. It usually takes 2.5 to 3 hours to play max. Which in theory allows a small break between rounds and enough time for the awards before dark.
Yeah it would be a long day but I believe it is possible to hold both events in the same day.
Either way Count Me In!
