Hickory Work Day

Postby Master Lee » Thu Apr 24, 2008 6:32 pm

This Sunday 4-27-08.
Time Suggestions? I was thinking noonish or a little earlier.
Bring out any trimming utencils that you can.
Hopefully we will be able to bring out some baskets from exchange.
I will be meeting with Al (the park ranger) Friday or Saturday. I will post on here afterwards about the baskets.

Met with Al (Hickory Hills park ranger) Friday afternoon.
We are good to go on Sunday.
We can also start bringing out baskets.
There are some flooding issues, mainly back by the farm pond.
It has become flooded to the point where it has made its own channel down to the main lake. Al said he had a temp bridge or somthing like that to lay down so we can cross during the tournament. It shouldn't interfere with any of the holes.
As far as mowing goes many of the valley areas are saturated.
And any large mowers could really tear up the ground. I think any large mowing would be better later in the week.
We will have to hike some of the baskets in as well so we dont tear up the ground with the trucks.
Al has more new trees planted mostly along the Hickory Monster comming up the hill next to the gravel rd.
Bottom line No large vehicles on the grass, watch out for new trees, bring out your weedeaters and trimming equip. giggity giggity giggity goo
