Course Improvements

Course Improvements

Please post here and let me know what you would like to see done to improve the course. We made $320 this summer with a the fundraiser tournament Hilltop Challenge. So, we have $320 to spend on the course and possibly more money coming from the Van Meter Park and Rec Foundation and additional sponsors. Cement tee pads are not an option because Park and Rec wants to keep the course "natural looking". Some ideas right now include long tee signs, markers for tee pads, and a course map. Any suggestions and ideas would be appreciated.

yeah, that will be real natural looking once the tee pads are all dirt spots. Once that happens, maybe suggest colored (green) concrete.

This summer there are a number of course improvements in the works. These include an additional 8 tees all in longer locations, new signage, and markers for the teepads. As mentioned, the city did not want cement pads so we decided on wooden boards to mark the throwing location for each hole. Pictured below are the "A" markers for the short pads which is the original course setup with a few exceptions. Next up we will be making markers for the long pads followed by handmade wooden signs for all the pads. Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated, there are only two of
us working on this so an outside perspective wouldn't hurt.
