2012 team tourney

Postby 1semenking » Thu Feb 09, 2012 2:12 pm

Looks like Steve will not be able to Captain for us this year. However he will be available to play. I am interested in knowing who all is available for the event and if you know others that may be aswell. What night of the week works best for everyone? I would like to try and have a meeting of the minds and see what we can come up with. PM me and we can get the ball rolling. If not enough interest is expressed I will take it upon myself to get a team together for this event

Thank you,

Tim Ragen

We will definitely have a team this year. We are trying to figure out the dates for recording rounds. The hardest part is trying to find dates that will allow all people to play. Obviously we will not be able to pick only one date, therefore, we will try to host multiple dates that people can use to record rounds. I like the idea of multiple dates with the option of turning in two rounds to be scored. Not sure what the others think of this yet.

That has worked pretty well in the past with team tourney and
ISU team tryouts as well. Need to make sure there are designated ppl to play with or that can attest as witnesses to those played and scored rounds.

I would definitely be able to help out in that sense. Also this http://iowadg.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8143 was just posted about the tourney, run down of teams, requirements and deadline for teams.

Kurt just asked if he could play with us. I think it's okay. Do you think it's unfair to the residents of Ames? What do you think the others would say?

never got a message from you Timmah.....

It's OK to represent the team you that you want to play for. I think the big "sort of" unwritten respect for the event rule is that nobody brings in any out of state ringers. This hasn't really been an issue the past several years, so I didn't even address it formally.

Sorry Jay, thought I got that to you. I was contacted by Kurt to see if he could try out for our team if the other guys were ok with it. I would also like to extend that invitation to Butcher. I know that Kurt has played with this team in the past. I wasn't sure if there were any contingencies with this issue. I only knew that last year we had a designated mileage radius that had to be followed. Being that it is no out of staters, we may need to watch Northern Iowa team.
