Isn't this when "Gofarts300" posts a picture of Sandberg being G@y or something like that?

They say that want someone with managing/ coaching experience in the Show.

But the Cardinals are interested

I'll be honest. As one of my favorite players growing up I'd love to see Sandberg get a ring. And his chances are probably better there so I'm all for it. If he lands in Stl. it will be interesting to see the Cubs fans reactions.

You're right it is interesting when one of the biggest Cub fans I know thinks it'd be great to see one of the greatest Cubs of all time get a ring in STL. What's not interesting is that most Cub fans will be outraged and pissed when one of their beloved hero's is the manager of their biggest rival ..... That's called the expected reaction.

Actually agreeing with you here... I know the Cards/Cubs rivalry isnt anywhere close to NY/Boston, but man, I would be fcking furious for the rest of my life if I was a Cub fan and Sandberg managed STL....that is messed up to think otherwise

Yep. As Single L said this would probably be the majority. It's not Ryno's fault. He took a path that I'm sure he was hoping to land him a spot in Chicago and that isn't going to happen.
As discussions have gone with some other Cub fans it's probably for the better that he doesn't land in Chicago. If the Cubs were terrible under him, that would present an akward situation for everybody. I'd almost rather not take that chance.

Theo and crew are behind the idea of building up as many assets as possible. While Zambrano's had issues in the past, under lifeless managers (and even front office personnel at that), he still has to the potential to be an asset to the club. He takes the ball every 5th day and gives you a chance to win every time out. They are not going to throw $18 million away just to get rid of him and get nothing in return. Especially if they hire someone with a pitching background (Mike Maddux) as their manager, they may be able to turn him back into at least a fraction of what he once was. Obviously they think they might be able to fix him.

Z is a head case and he has had recent struggles on the mound to say the least. He has still been one of the most dominate pitchers in the Cubs organization, if not the league, for the past decade. No rings to show it, but for those that forgot the Cubs were one of the best teams in the national league throughout most of the 2000's and ZBo was a big part of that. I still have faith in the guy. Only time will tell.
