If you caught it I'm interested to know what you thought. I read and hear alot of what's going on with him and the UFC. Im curious what a casual fan or non-fan thought of the piece.

Im pretty ignorant.......i thought he sounded like a d-bag, and his rant was very unprofessional. Not a guy Id want to be in charge of a sport in which I played and wanted to go mainstream

I haven't seen it, but from what I know about the guy seems like most of what he does is about hyping the sport, or UFC specifically (I think, right?)

He's doing something right, he's taken the sport from basically a niche sport (like disc golf) that was pay per view to a full-blown publicly accepted venue. Hell, I think MMA is still not even legal in some states, and I remember 15 years ago when it wasn't legal in most. We have reality shows on TV about MMA now. I remember when it was regarded as a brutal, uncivilized sport. Could almost go as far as saying it wasn't even accepted in American culture. He's helped change that in less than 20 years. His little falling out/bout with Tito (again, hope I'm right there) kinda struck me as a publicity stunt. But hey, it's working for the guy, isn't it?

Maybe disc golf needs a guy with Dana's kind of vision. He's a businessman, entrepeneur, and goes out and does whatever it takes to achieve his goals. There's always something positive to be said for those types of people.

I was only able to catch about 10 seconds of it...but Dana White is kind of a d-bag.

The only reason why MMA is taking off is b/c boxing is so poor these days. It is the same fan base just moving to a different sport.

Exactly. Dana is a POS d-bag, the sport is not taking off bc of him. A monkey in a cage could run the MMA bc of boxing's state right now.

That's pretty false. Most boxing fans consider themselves too classy to consider MMA legit. MMA has built from a hardcore fanbase and has grabbed the attention of 18-34 y/o's, who never watch boxing.

Boxing killed itself and Dana White figured out how not to do that --->

1 organization with exclusive contracts.
