Iowa wrestling

Postby Nick Strut » Sun Dec 07, 2008 7:19 pm

I know CR Prarie produced alot of top wrestlers back in the day. I can only think of Barry Davis off the top of my head. Who were some other guys out of Prarie?

Barry Davis, Jim Zalesky, Lennie Zalesky are the most well known wrestlers. Prairie has had 20 Individual State Champions wining 26 state titles; 4 of which won 2 titles, and 1(Barry Davis) won 3 titles. Prairie has 13 State top 4 finishes; 2 titles, 4 - 2nd place, 4 - 3rd place finishes, 3 - 4th place. 10 State Dual appearances; 2 titles, 3 - 2nd place, 1 - 3rd place, 1 - 4th place.

yep, isu almost lost to boise st in the match before that too and only beat nebraska by 1 pt to get third

Iowa came thru big in the win vs. cornell. Started off down 0-6 and were still down 8-13 after 6 matches but swept the last four to win it. Just goes to show how tough the team is when they can beat the soon to be #2 team by 10 points without falck in the lineup
Holy shit we got a psycho in league! Don't piss that kid off!

He failed the Geography test where they went over the locations of Ivy League schools

Should have watched the office for a refresser, Mr. Ghost you would know exactly where Cornell is located

And the grammar test...

Cornell is in New York. I don't know why heads would roll b/c they have a damn good wrestling team with mulitiple all-americans and a returning national champion in their lineup

Iowa beat Oklahoma State last weekend to snap a 9 match losing streak to them. Good riddance! They have now won 29 in a row and 25 in a row away from Carver. That was Iowa's biggest test for the rest of the season and barring any upsets they should be able to break their all-time mark of 42 in a row early next year with basically the entire lineup coming back.
