Your biggest issue is the issue that always kills teams that rely on defense. You have a good defense, which might actually offset this, not one of the "good" defenses. And what I mean there is that you are living off the turnover at this point in the season. When the turnovers stop coming your way, and we all know they do stop at some point, what do you do then? Forte doesn't look great and cutler is completing under 60%. Or what happens if you lose Marshall? Either way enjoy the ride, and stop hating on the coach that has gotten you to super bowls and always in playoff contention. With jay cutler and rex grossman as his qbs.

The thing I'm happy about is our depth. Rb and QB are backed up better than ever before. Our secondary had been suspect for years but with Conte and Major Wright coming into their own at safety, Jennings and Pnut are wreaking havoc.

Our loss to the packers, as ugly as it was, wasn't that bad.

Your LB depth is also ridiculous. If you can just get one against GB you can start thinking how to set yourselves up for the playoffs. Wish I could memorize schedules, what week does Chicago play GB again?

week 14.

I'm not so sure about LB. they took out Urlacher and Briggs and CJ goes for 80 yard TD. Urlacher would never have let that happen. Roach got caught moving forward instead of laterally.

Listened to Urlacher interview with Rome today. With the drills they have been practicing, I doubt that the turnovers stop. If the turnovers do stop, then their opponents will just face more 3rd and long situations. What is the better option.....go ahead and let the baddest defense in the land take it from me, or let my punter kick it to Hester. Either way...Bears WIN!!!

As a fan of the KC chiefs, who had a plus 29 turnover differential going into week 15 of 2003 and ended with a plus 29 after week 17 and 3 straight losses, I have some experience. We also lived by the turnover 2 years ago and then couldn't do crap in the playoffs with our 0 turnovers forced.

Secondly, the turnovers do stop. Look at Arizona this year, or Seattle. Both lived off the turnovers the first 4-5 games and then fell off once they started to not get them. Just because Urlacher says they practice turnovers doesn't mean that other team don't. Minnesota paid a guy 600k a year back in 2000 just to have a martial arts expert work with their secondary and LB's to help them with punching the ball out. So thats not a new concept.

PS Urlacher does an awesome interview, even if I hate Jim Rome.

I absolutely agree that the defense, and turnovers, have made the difference in the first half of the season. And yes, it will be hard for us to stay in command of games if turnovers stop. But when all an opponent can do is work all week on preventing takeaways, then they don't work on scoring or stopping scores. Bears WIN!!!

The bears definitely have found a way to capitalize on turnovers. These next two weeks playing the Texans and then the 49ers will be able to give the league a preview of how the Bears will likely perform in the playoffs.

Also, the bears defensive line isnt so bad either.....tied for third place in the league with sacks (25) and are the in 6th place in rushing defense. It's been easy to forget about peppers and the crew when all you see are db's creating interceptions and fumbles. when your stacked on defense turnovers keep coming....
