Postby Furniss » Sun Nov 28, 2010 1:26 pm

Iv'e had my Gateway tour bag for about 11 years now. It is still in ok shape..but I am in the market for a new one..I was thinking of getting the Kong Gorilla bag seen here

Does anyone have one of these? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I have the Chimp and it's a very well made bag. You might want to consider the Gorilla. It is just a bit smaller since it doesn't have the 9 X 9 pocket behind the putter pocket but has a larger side pocket. The Kong does have 2 drink holders. I personally don't want a second drink holder which is why I chose the Chimp. Their main disc compartment is the same. The price difference is $35.

My Chimp holds 16 discs in the main compartment; 4 mids, 4 fairway drivers and 8 various other drivers. It also will hold 2 putters in the putter pocket.

I think I've had it 2 full years and it's very solid with no signs of wear.

I can vouch for GB bags being well made and very sturdy while still being really light weight. I had a Silverback and loved it, wish I hadn't traded it away.

Aren't there any illegal immigrants you can get to carry your discs for you? They work cheap...like your mom! OH SNAP!

I owned the Chimp for a while. It was a great bag, just needed it to carry a few more discs at the time. Great construction, light and sturdy.

I plastidipped the bottom of mine for extra protection. Make sure to sand down any joints in the frame that may be sharp so it doesn't wear on the bag

Nice pics! That bag looks pretty darn good. Best disc golf bag I've seen on the market. Glad his production line got them out to you guys finally!

I see you have 16 discs in the main compartment. I'm guessing that the bag will loosen up and allow for more storage.

For sure, I think it will take 2-3 more right now, I pulled a couple out and stuck them in the middle pocket just to show that capability off in the pics. I carry 3-4 putters or more all the time though so I lose a bit of the advertised capacity on any bag.
