Sprague...Jay is absolutely correct. Ignore me. I don't spend any time on this thing anymore...but I did want to see what the status of the new Camden course was, and I couldn't help but chuckle a bit when thinking of what the implication would be if that course was considered "gold". (Cuz, although the old course has been a land-mark for the QC's for a long time...it has changed over the years to be a....well, not-world-class sort of course. Without being TOO critical.) So, marking that course as "Gold" would then make me think that the old course would need some sort of re-naming, or exageration as well. And, comparatively...we're talkin' Filet Mignon to processed hot dogs.

So, quite the opposite, I'm not trying to offend at all...trying to offer my petty thoughts as to future implications.

Lets just call it no chuckers , or getting fucked up in the woods, bogey, then we could call the original, a chuckers paridise, tommahawk white, or Blackhawk rec. I think Blackhawk gold is the best sounding for the new course and if people get all retarded and cannot undeerstand that it is at Camden then that is what they are retarded. Just my .02 I think blackhawk gold at Camden has a nice ring to it though.
Do what is right, because that is what is right.

thanks

I don't think Gold would be an exaggeration at all - it will have 7 or 8 par 4's and a par 5 in the "Gold" layout -

Naming the course "gold" however might be a stretch especially in the A pin layout which will average around 230ft.

If this course continues to develop like I envision than it will be worthy of a World Class Title - whether or not we call it Gold is up to those involved and the Villiage of Milan - since you've come out for a work day - your opinion counts and you make excellent points - thank you.

Camden East will be WORLD CLASS!

This distinction was what I had in mind when I suggested we call it Camden Woods. You're still going to Milan to play at Camden, but you're playing the Woods course.

Camden East and West would carry the same distinction.

"You wanna play Camden this weekend?"
-"Sure, East or West?"

Sounds about right.

This would be much easier to get approved by the Village as well.

East and West is kind of lame.

That's in the same vein as Camden 1 and Camden 2 ... or Camden A and Camden B. Lacks any life.

When we had our second child, we didn't go back and rethink the name of our first one.

So maybe the Gold part drops out. I really like the Blackhawk part of the name as a nod to the heritage of the area. Blackhawk _______ at Camden Park.

True, but they both have the same last name.

Aren't there enough Blackhawk-named entities around here already?

Well for it to have a name it has to be finished. Until then its the unfinished course everyone asks about few work on... and yet we still argue over a name. There are more pressing matters then a name.

It's a long shot, but just maybe if people get excited talking about the Course With No Name, they'll come out and work on it. Building excitement is just part of the battle.

I LOVE Camden East aka CE (great idea Sprague). Think of the possibilities for a fund raiser stamp. Not that we would need a kick ass fund raiser, but we could raise funds for a big tournament or landscaping on the course.

Freecycle.com I guess is the place, Brad has posted a need for landscaping materials and has received numerous offers - One being in Silvis from the railroad company - another coming from a little further away, but offering landscaping blocks. Should be plenty more replies over the next week!

Good work Brad!!!
