I like Blackhawk Gold it has a ring to it for the location and that it makes it sound strong and rich.

I'm also in favor of Blackhawk Gold. I really think it would be sweet for the QC to have a course named for something other than the park it is in.

I'll third the Blackhawk Gold name. I like the way it sounds. I just hope that the course can live up to a name like that. Can't wait to see the product.

Feels like Gold implies a specific layout.

I think it makes it sound like it is expensive and rich with a strong name before it reflecting the heiritage of the area. Like a country club or something, and that is what Camden should be like rich with people but without the expense. Kind of like a free country club.

Easy Jay - the BGCC is all that - If you haven't played it - you haven't played!

I wouldn't spend 250hrs on something that won't live up!

Gold does usually imply a specific layout - but in my mind the gold layout is the course - everything else will be options.

I could really care less what you decide to name the thing, but it will be somewhat humorous if you go with the "gold" theme. Seems to me like it implies that the existing course (Camden 1, as I believe people refer to it as) would be "Camden Silver" or "Blackhawk Tin" in comparison. If deciding to name it with such "lucrative" adjectives becomes reality, will you do the same to the old course...or does is just continue to be "Camden"? (No fun adjectives or descriptions.)

"Hey, lets go play Blackhawk Gold."
- "Blackhawk Gold? Where's Blackhawk Gold?"
"You know, next to Camden."
- "There's another park next to Camden?"
"No, its in Camden...its just Blackhawk Gold."
- "Hmmm...."
"Who's on first?"

honestly I've overlooked the obvious - we have - it's not like I started the discussion of naming it (just brought it to the forum)

Camden East
Camden West

don't want to offend anyone with naming the "thing"

that would save the "gold" for the actual layouts

That's why....

Like I said, I don't care what you name it...it'll be a great course. However, I'll comment on the "existing idea" of what those names could mean or imply.

sorry - I've got a metric chit ton of hours on the course - and it sounded kind of snarky to say "you could really care less" -I'm probably being sensitive and I was having trouble reading anything but sarcasm in your post. (I know you of all people can relate)

You make good points about the original course - OC - Original Camden

Camden East/West is what I've seen on courses like Standing Rocks and I think it would maintain the integrity of both courses. Camden would be the park (facility)as a whole.

I like the idea of naming a course - but ultimately Marketing a course as the east or west course implies 2 courses and might serve the purpose of drawing people in.
