The back nine progress

The back nine progress

Postby hyzerman16234 » Tue Aug 07, 2007 7:59 am

We will be clearing fare ways this Sunday to start work on the back. We mostly just have to weed eat. We start setting pad frames the next weekend. If we progress the way i think we will we should be throwing from concrete for the September 20-23 camp out. Welded all the sleeves yesterday so as soon as the materials for the pads is delivered then we can put the sleeves in too.

Walked the back nine with John the park ranger yesterday. All is good to go. Lots to do now. If anyone see's him out there please thank him for letting us do this. They've been great to work with.

Cleared 18 yesterday and tried to work on 10 but got attacked by bees. There is a ground nest where i was putting brush by 10 pad. I want revenge!! If i'd have had shorts on 50 stings would be likely. But i think i only got 6. It's amazing how fast you can run in those situations. Going back to do more today.

Measured the back nine today and also plotted 3 C (gold) pins.

A:.............B:.........C:
10: 261' -- 357'
11: 300' -- 396' -- 479'
12: 215' -- 295'
13: 236' -- 309'
14: 286' -- 465' -- 562'
15: 195' -- 254'
16: 202' -- 226'
17: 353' -- 441' -- 538'
18: 252' -- 330'
Total:
A: 2300'..B: 3074'..C:3351'
14, 17, and 18 are definitely the 3 holes that will make the back nine. We will just be doing the A and B pins this fall but will clear the C pins. I think that 18 will be the ultimate hole to finish on. It is a tunnel through rows of pines and you have one center lane with an outside lane on either side that is a prayer if you go that way. I'll see about some pics soon to show what I mean.

Placed materials today. We can drive everywhere on the back so it will go much better. We will start putting all the stuff where it needs to go and should be done in a month. We have a few trees to clear and then weed wack, set pads and pins, and it will be ready. I just have to get going on baskets. There's a chance they could be in before winter.

10 thru 12 are cleared now. We can't drive in so the work is not going as quick as planned. I will try to get 2 more holes done tomorrow and then maybe it will dry out over the weekend so we can finish clearing and set pads next week. We are still on track to have the pads and pins in on time for the camp out on the 9/20 to 23 weekend.

Put almost all the materials out today. 3 Pads are done. The rest won't take long. Should be no problem getting the rest done before the end of next weekend.

Thanks for adding it. We will be finishing work on the back this weekend and will have temps set up in the sleeves for the camp out We had to kill a few bee nests so if anyone comes out be aware that there could be more off the fairways. I'm up to a dozen stings now from 2 attacks. The mosquitos are the worst i've ever seen too. We'll still be putting in quite a few rounds over the weekend. Everyones welcome to check it out There's usually several campsites open so if anyone wants to camp they shouldn't have a problem.

Sleeves are in thru 13 plus 17 and 18. So that leaves 3 holes plus 1 pad, #10. The rest will be done tomorrow.

Storm damage

Postby hyzerman16234 » Thu Sep 20, 2007 5:13 am

The storm tues knocked some limbs and stuff down. Nothing a little chainsaw work can't fix. We'll still be playing by noon.
