Interesting. Though I am against it in general, I do it myself sometimes when turning south (left) onto Community House Rd, due mostly to the skewed geometry that helps navigate it:
I have always called it "jumping the restart", a term fittingly borrowed from NASCAR.
The Texas Courtesy Pass is another de facto example of reciprocal altruism, although I don't think it has its own Wiki page.
