Looks like someone took the ball and ran with it. We should find them, get them together with the Norwalk guys, and put them to work on Greenwood.

Well, Charlie probably thought it was easier to recruit his Boone cronies than try to get disc golfers to help.

Some one at Madrid said the course has all 18 baskets now.

Rumor has it there is a tournament at the new course in Boone on Sunday to coincide with the towns Pufferbilly festival.

Pufferbilly Days
It does mention Disc Golf

I'll have to dig up the email Charlie sent me in regards to the Pufferbilly tournament. I do know that it's aimed more toward the rec players.

i just played there on sunday the course isn't complete...3-11 have the pad locations dug out but no baskets yet 14 has the basket but no poured pads other than that the rest of the wholes are good. the might be doing a 9 hole tourney tho.
The real excitement is playing the game.

Hyvee sponsored a nine hole exhibition tournament on sunday using the short upper nine holes. 15 people played. It was very disorganized, the hyvee people had probably never played d.g. before let alone a tourney but hey hyvee as a sponsor is sweeet. Plus i gained two strokes on the last two holes to tie for the lead in the adult division. The course itself is having problems with scheduling, labor and logistics. the concrete people do not want to work with us as far as pouring after 4 or on saturdays. Plus the parks department ,from what i hear , is not going to be able to maintain the bottom holes because they can't get in there with their mowers :?: Hyvee plans to make this tournament a regular pufferbilly event
twenty years of throwin, my interest in the sport is still growin.

That's pretty FUBAR, that they put in a game/sport in a place they wouldn't be abel to maintain, hence them not having anyone use it.

Yeah it is no supprise that most of the lower 9 will be maintained well, 4,5 have some grass but they have the most of the lower 9. Maintence should not be too much of a problem because of the lack of grass. The Boone course is intense I am thouroughly impressed by it. You deffinitly view disc golf with a bigger pair after playing. Makes other courses seem a lot easier. Only thing I wish they would put up is a few bridges to cross on holes 7,8, and 9.

We're currently devising some stream crossing ideas that will be simple and less susceptible to washing out from flood waters. We should have at least something temporary in place for Iowa Games. We're working on scheduling some work days for this month so stay tuned if you wish to help out.
