Discraft Surge, 1.7

Postby ghstinshll » Thu Mar 22, 2007 1:43 pm

hey all, just picked up a 1.7 Z-Surge, and a new Buzz GT. I really didn't need the buzz because I have a KC Roc already, but thought I'd try it out because of the thumb track.

Any reviews from the peanut gallery? I'm thinking the 1.7 Z Surge should be a decent wind disc?

actually the surge will fly comparable to the wraith in the wind if you get an esp pulse that will fly like a tee rex. the pulse has been very consistant for me the past few days

Dude, I threw the Surge a couple times while walking the layout (again) for the Norwalk course, and LOVE it. It's comparable to something between an Orc & a Wraith. I haven't thrown a crush to be able to compare it to another Discraft disc, but it was a NICE throw. I bought a 171 in Z plastic, and it threw really nice on "hole #4 @ Norwalk"... Nice 300+ shot to the creek, sat down right on the edge of the creek & made for a nice 20' putt across the creek!

Jason...if you think about trying the esp surge next, it is more overstable than the z.

Have to get the right color for good stability. Green, yellow, and white are the most stable surges I have thrown.

I have thrown orange, white and yellow. All of them flew similar to a star wraith. The orange was the most overstable of the group. From what I have seen/heard, the powder blue one's are pretty flippy.
