Newbie Question

Postby Athrawn17 » Sun Apr 01, 2007 2:28 pm

Hi,
I just picked up disc golf last year so I'm fairly new to the game. I have a question about doubles. Do you need to have a partner in order to play? Or is it randomly assigned?

Thanks

Depends.

Most formal tournaments require that doubles teams are pre-assigned. The doubles events that feature random pairing of teams will be advertised as "Random Draw".

If you're question is in reference to Tuesday night doubles league, it's random, you'll have a different partner each week.

Yes, it was within the context of the DM League. Sorry about that. But thanks for clearing that up.

Of course, if it's truly random, there is a pretty good chance that you *won't* have a _different_ partner _each_ week. Rather, you might, by random chance, end up with the same pendantic no-putting dork on 2 or more nights through the course of a season.

Being referred to as a pedant, or pedantic, is considered insulting. However some people take pride in being a pedant, especially with regard to the use of the English language. In an attempt to avoid censure, people who wish to make a correction often preface it with "not wishing to be pedantic, but ..." or "without being a pedant, ...".
