Well tonight is the night. STS9 at Peoples. Due to unfortunate recent events I will be unable to go. At the same time it is kind of a good thing. Because not realizing until today that right down the street from STS9 at Vaudville Mews Hot Buttered Rum will be picking some bluegrass. It would be awfully difficult to make a decision on which to go to. Hope you all enjoy the show, whichever it may be.

Remember "The Schwag"?

They're playing Vaudeville Mews Nov 9th and in Cedar Falls on the 10th. Had some good times with them at.....don't say it too loud.....Steb's. Can't believe that it is still a vacant lot. It looks like the only original member is the founding member.

Aren't they a Greatful Dead cover group? Saw them a couple times at RIBCO, great shows, from what I can remember. 8)

For us old guys....

I caught the Bob Dylan concert last night at Carver-Hawkeye in IC. All I can say is that band would rock the pants off most others I've seen in my days. Sorta like the 'Highway 61 Revisited' sound - only better. He played 3 songs off that record - Highway 61, Desolation Row, and Like a rolling Stone. Overall, one of his better shows.

The show opened with some kid named Amos Lee. Good singer - great band. A little wimpy for me but he was still pretty good.

Elvis Costello was there as a solo act. Played guitar and sang. It was a short set, but excellent. Brought back memories of seeing him in '82 with the Attractions.

...and now, back to talk of Grateful Dead cover groups...
