- Great beer, I really enjoyed it. Not as much ancho chile coming through like I thought it would, but overall a fun and different chocolate stout. Lots of layers of flavor going on. I would definitely buy again.

I liked this as well. Good stuff.

AO wrote:Brawley's Beverage in Charlotte is a great place to stop if anyone is in the area. Went back to NoDa Brew Co, hit up Birdsong Brew for the first time and the Common Market. Common was kind of a hippy vibe but people are nice. Then on the way back Mandie and I went to Wicked Weed Brew Co last night. NC has a good thing going for them.

Glad you made time to get to those places. We love NoDa and Birdsong. Nothing outlandish -- just good solid beer. Also love Triple C -- great place and good beer. They had a Breakfast Porter last winter that was awesome. They saved some and have been aging it in bourbon barrels, to be released soon. Should have at least one more brewery open (Unknown Brewing), maybe more, by the time you come out next year.

and ......... 28, 34, 39 of the top 50!!! That's 8 of the 50 with an Average of 15.375

World Wide Numbers:

#1 & #2 & #15 American Double / Imperial Stout (Kentucky Brunch Brand Stout, Mornin' Delight, Assassin Imperial Stout)
#3 American Pale Ale (PseudoSue)
#24 American Double / Imperial IPA (Sosus)
#38 American IPA (Golden Nugget IPA)

Naughty Temple (95 World-Class Ranking) & Zeelander (94 Outstanding Ranking) are the only ones not in the Worldwide Style top 50 of the ones that made the Midwest top 50. Naughty temple is only 0.01 from the top 50 with its score and Zeelander is only 0.04.

Nice! It's so good and catching on. When I travel out of state my beer geek buddies are always trying of get me to bring them some. Mandie, the Palmers and myself are going there for the weekend when they release KBBS. Along with the fantastic beer the drive is nice and the city of Decorah has a lot of cool things to do.

And you know where I'll be...

Now that you mention it, I do still have some KBBS, Mornin D, and Assassin at home...waiting for the real fall weather to kick in

From what I've been hearing, the Assassin release this year is going to be crazy! Shirts by J5

last year i threw a few SN narwhals in the cellar. When it came out this year I did a comparison. The 2012 had mellowed out quite nicely and was perfect. The 2013 was pretty good as well.
