Then I would blame Slab City not the fact that it was milk stout, or more commonly refferred to as sweet stout or cream stout. There are some very excellent Cream Stouts out there. Mackeson XXX for example or Bells Double Cream Stout are both outstanding.
Is this the line for the beer, or the line for the coupons for the beer?

Had some Stella Artois (belgium Lager) while in C.F. Wednesday.

Not to bad for a traditional lager and much better than the crap that comes from ST. Louis. Have you ever had a bad Belgium Beer?

I must say that the I enjoy the Belgian Ales much better.

You are my idle. I can say that I have had maybe 1% of that wall. Is there a name for that wall amongst the locals?

Ya I have had a bad Belgian - Stella artois, the budweiser of belgium whose parent company Inbev is in merger talks right now with Anheuser Busch. So some day it might be made in St Louis.

Had a Steelhead Extra Stout from Mad River in Cali. Delicious. Man I love a good roasty stout.

Also had the Delirium Nocturnum. Yeah, okay. It was pretty tasty. Not my favorite style of beer. It's probably very good for what it is. I appreciated the flavors. But for my money and preferences, I'm not paying 4 bucks a tiny bottle for this stuff.

The Delerium Nocturnum is good, but as far as dark strong belgians there are so many others I would recommend over it.
Rochefort 10
Gulden Draak
Rochefort 8
St Bernardus 12
Unibroue Terrible
Abbey Des Rocs Grand Cru
Chimay Blue
Unibroue Trois Pistoles

In roughly that order. Obviously Wesvletern 12 would be at the top or close, but is basically not available in the US anymore.

The Steelhead isn't sold in IL or IA, but I will keep and eye out for it when travelling.

In a story too long to tell, my wife ended up with a 6-pack of contraband BLUE, smuggled across the border.

At least we *thought* it was a 6-pack.

In doing some re-arranging of my beer fridge, I noticed that one of the 6 is actually a HUMMER. The 6-pack is supposed to be hers, but I'm going to try to get that one from her.
