Does this deserve its own thread?

Was that rhetorical?

The winter brews have started hitting the shelves in CLT, as of about a week ago. So far I've seen Sam, Saranac, and Red Hook. My brother-in-law found some Harpoon Winter Warmer last year, and he swears by it. I'm looking forward to giving it a try this year.

In other news, Sam's Club sells a 15-pack of Guinness Pub Draught cans for $16. The local Dahl's-like grocery sells a 4-pack of same for $7.49. What the? (Of course, skim milk is $2.15 vs. $4.something. But Sam's isn't usually all that much cheaper on beer.)

Picked up a 12 of the Flying Dog Mix Pack last night. Dank stuff. Same hangover as last time though, and I never get hangovers.

8-ball was the shizzle back in the day. Good Ole Malt Liquor. I remember buying them in Charlotte for .59 a quart. Getting hammered for like 3 bucks...

They just got alot of the Bell's Brewing Company at the Drugtown off 42nd, $8.99.

I tried the APA, it had a great flavor, the hops were lacking a bit in the aftertaste. I think they use Amarillo Hops but I can't be sure... has a more grassy flavor. Overall rating 8.5, very good, I'll be trying the rest. Hopefully they have the Two-Hearted Ale, I've heard it's the best they make.

maybe you guys have heard of this before, but I had something called Monty Python's Holy Grail Ale, put out by Blacksheep brewery. And it is magnificent... You can get it at Old Chicago, and probably anywhere that sells lots of import and microbrewery bottles, Dirty Johns if you will.
