Seeing the recent props about the Pen I sent a note to Terry with IC Parks and let him know that a bunch of people have complimented the course and its conditions lately. Positive feedback is awesome and I'm sure inspires people to help with the course work on some level. All the volunteer work is for nothing out there if the city doesn't mow and they've done a pretty good job of it this summer.

There is a large tree down that fell over in the fairway about 40 feet off of the hole five blue tee pad. The entire tree will need to be cut up and removed from the fairway so that the city mowers can get through and mow the area. I can meet somebody out there whenever to help get rid of it. Write a message on here if you have some time to meet me out there.

Andy--I've only got a small chain saw, but I'll be out there tonight to cut up and move as much of it as I can.

The main trunk was too big for my chainsaw although I cleared a lot of it. Now there is room for a mower to drive around one end of the trunk. The hole is playable. Doubt it will stay like this, but I left one high arching limb as a fun temporary obstacle. Enjoy!

Sunday's storm brought down 1/2 of the lightening hollowed tree at the end of 6....right in the fairway. Anyone want to move the basket til we clean up in there? The earliest I can saw up that tree is Sunday, could use some help hauling it off.

I gotta get my chains sharpened or I'd get to it quick. I'm sure someone can move the basket for league tonight. My stuff is in Killion's car and he mentioned being stuck at work late possibly so I'll only be there if he is.

I moved the basket on hole 6 to the short location due to the tree that is down. I also moved hole 1 to the long, 2 to the long and 3 to the short location.

Got an hour or two in this morning on hole 6. I also noticed the same thing happened on 2's blue tee. I'll be out there again tomorrow til 1 or so.

Worked for an hour Sunday and got 2 more hours in on that monster on 6 today. Mostly just the trunk left. Cut up 2's blue clog, but haven't hauled it off yet.

I had a spare 20 minutes this evening when I was near the Pen with some tools so I cut out the charred 6x6 so that we can replace it (probably with 2x6's) and get the information board back in shape.

Last night used pole saw and cleared up hanging limbs on #2 - #6.

Today used pole saw on #7 - 10. Moved baskets on #1, #4, #5 and #7. Chainsaw on #5 blue. We could use more of that big long cut up so the wider mower that the city uses can get through. Cleared up the hanging limbs that were a huge mess on the left side of #13 and dragged them off of the fairway.

A bunch of work got done by Jason and myself over the weekend. Hole #13 was cleaned up around the short basket and down the fairway. The basket has been moved to the long location so go have some fun with it!
