I'm curious if the lower divisions (intermediate for me) will be finished in time to watch the Open leaders on Sunday.

Actually, it looks like Credit is out. They are calling for flooding to take place next week. They havent cancelled our event yet but Ive put Jessica through enough stress over the Rocs and Rumblegate already and Middle Park just makes the most sense. We are in talks with them right now about shifting the Credit rounds to there. The field events and clinic will go to Camden Park, I believe. Im not sure about the icebreaker Doubles, and honestly am not that concerned. Ill be working on a nice "still good to get up early" buzzz at Bent River Friday night.

We are lucky here, we can pick and choose courses to add in. Yes, there is another Iron Lion event scheduled for Middle later this season, but this is The Rumble. Its about more showcasing the Quad Cities Disc Golf, and people in general. Also, Middle has multiple pin placements on almost all holes and is a favorite of many. The event there will still be worthwhile.

There are some pros and cons still. It seems to me that Intermediate and Advanced will be playing an 18 hole layout at West Lake, Intermediate still playing with the mixed tee layout, Advanced Long Tees. I just cant see 2 groups getting 24 holes in one day.

And yes, by the time other divisions finish and make it out to West Lake groups should be nearing the end, after scoring, Awards will take place at West Lake.

If WL is available on Sat, why not have int play from the shorts, all 24, or even 18 from shorts? If it is available, and int has to play WL as one of 2 courses on Sat. Maybe shorts there and then somewhere else. But if we need to speed it up a little, then just doing shorts at WL would help some. It'll be a blast no matter what happens! Cheers

middle park will play silightly different. bt and i worked out a quicker set. after hole 2 you will play from 3s tee to the middle placement on hole 6. after, you will walk down to the temp tee and play to old hole 5s middle position. same hole that we have been playing since the park re-opened. following that you will play from another temp tee down to hole 4s long position. keeping with the theme, you will tee from the corner of the parking lot down to 3s basket in the middle position....then over to 7 for the rest of the original layout.

i feel this will bring big savings in the time department, as the flow in this area has always lagged. the new creek/pond will come into effect on several holes, and new ob should add to the challenge.

proposed layout for middle park;

1. medium - crest of hill
2. medium- on the berm
3. to 6s middle
4. temp to old 5s middle
5. temp to 4s long
6. temp to 3s middle
7. medium
8. long
9. long
10. long
11. medium
12. long
13. long
14. meduim
15. medium
16. medium
17. medium
18. medium

thanks to Tra-Lo, the city of Bettendorf, BT and Matt Schlabach for help in getting this done and on paper!

Its possible. Im going to try to get with BT on Monday and move them in position. The temp tees will probably be flagged, but i wouldnt expect them to be in before the event. one tee ( 6) is in the corner of the parking lot and may be open.

One of the temps is now full time, it plays as new 6 , but in the tourney will be hole 4.

Played the "old man" West Lake course today. Played it in under 3 hours. I like it. Plenty of challenge and actually still had enough energy to walk back to my car. That's a first...

They should be ready by Tuesday. Front 9 baskets are in the correct position. BT and I are moving the back 9 today. We are also moving the fly pad that is in original fours position right now to the temp fours tee for the tournament

Tree across 17 due to be removed tomorrow. 3 Monday work days in a row clearing fallen trees. Mother Nature against us this spring w/ snow and rain. Could've been even better. Chris has done amazing things w/ some of the greens. Thanks for noticing.
