Field rating is averaged at 1019.275!! It's going to be an interesting week and the energy around here is kind of odd. I think everything should work out fine. I'm ready for tomorrow.

Story telling time again at some point. Some of the things that I see happen with discs here is silly

OB on #6 just off the sand by 4 inches

#9 my disc was resting next to the brick base of the basket..Dean Pfiefer's upshot hits my disc and it rolls 20some ft away. Played it back next to the bricks at the original spot.

#10 first shot is a blade of grass from the rope. 2nd shot was a turd. 3rd shot goes in and is directly behind a tree. Upshot barely makes it in..missed put. Easy 6 with no ob strokes.

#11 I hit a stake keeping me safe.

#12 my 3rd shot hits the bricks/green...stands up...wabble wabble wabble.. ob. Followed next shot with a putter..that skip skips ob. Another putter upshot thats crap but make the putt. Easy 6 with no ob strokes. Tried to play old man layup golf and this didn't work.

#14 right of the basket and somewhat run a putt..lands flat and stands up and rolls ob.

#17 I go for the $1000 ace but miss..easy 2

#18s dock shot is cool. But to pay $3000 for it and have to take it out after the tournament seems a little unnecessary.

So if we would be playing normal rules I probably would have shot in the 80s. LOL Love it here. Only 7 strokes out of cash and going to drink my Pannepot, Avery and Hoppin Frog brews tonight.

Actually, there's no OB at USDGC this year. It's Buncr everywhere with a forced rethrow. Specifically, it's Special Conditions rule 804.01B with no penalty and the drop zone is always your previous lie.

I wondered why the scores seemed so low.

In years past 62 was a good score. It's pretty average this year.

Stroke and Distance is obviously the most penal, and I don't mind playing that way.

But wouldn't you say the rule they're using is better than the old OB rule? With that, you got to keep all the distance your throw went. Plus, you had controversies about where a disc went out, and whether it hit in-bounds. At least all that is gone.

SSA in the Final round of USDGC 2009 was 67, http://www.pdga.com/tournament_results/14109
That was the second year of the buncr rule being used along with some OB. Yesterday the SSA was 66.5

SSA was 67.5 in the Final round of USDGC2007 with mostly regular OB rules but a few were Throw and Distance like hole 3. So very little change in scoring for these three formats with the same score in 2007 rated just 3 points better than 2009 and 6 points better than 2012.

Final rounda always seemed to be the best, score wise. What about first days?

Just saying, half the field is -6 or better. Even used to be a decent start, now, it's way out of cash.

I think the average player rating is way up which is why the scores are much better. Pretty simple.
