Thanks to everyone who came out and played the event. It seemed, for the most part, to be successful...and I, for one, really enjoyed myself. Need to point out and thank, in particular: John Resch, Wes Keppy, Mike Robinson, Chase Roberts, Dennis Gonzalez and Chris Sprague for all their help in preparation and for tons of help during the day. Also, all the others who didn't mind me barkin' out orders for assistance: Dan Swords, Tom McManus, Branden Timper, Dakota Halligan, Pete Stolemeier, Mike Whiteside and Friestadt, and probably a crap-ton more people that I'm probably forgetting in all the mess. I promise you, your help is greatly appreciated.
One thing that I do need to clean up that I didn't notice at 10:15 pm and we were just tryin' to get done (finally): When I sorted the spreadsheet for strokes and lined up the pay-outs last night...I didn't even THINK about ties, I just read them out in the order they came up. When looking over them this afternoon, we noticed that there were two ties in the payouts: Dennis Gonzalez and I tied, and Kevin Stibal and Dakota Halligan tied. If there needs to be arrangements for the monetary difference...let me know, I'm REALLY sorry. My mind, let alone my body, was cashed at that point...and it never even crossed my mind. Again, my apologies.
Congratulations to Chris Sprague for EARNING the title of 2012 Ironman. He, Dave, and Chase seemed to be battling pretty evenly most of the day. Nice win, Chris.
There were 3 aces hit during the day, listed below in order of occurance...not 'coolness factor' (maybe
K.C. Randall - #16 at Camden 1
Chris Sprague - #10b, temp hole, at Middle
Kendall Clark - #12 at Credit Island
I've cleaned up and finished the spreadsheet, and will have Mike post that tomorrow, so people can gawk at how well some people held up throughout the whole day and laugh at their rivals...in the end, we all (well, 49 of us at least) finished, and can call ourselves an "Ironman".
16,437 strokes thrown by those involved.
Thanks again, everyone. And, I imagine we'll probably be up for doing this again next year. We already talked about some tweaks we can make to speed things along a bit more, and improve upon this year.
