Am I the only one that thinks some of these round ratings at the NT's are getting a little obnoxious? I know these guys are good but really?

Nope...the golfers are getting better and scores are getting to be silly. Check the top 7 compared to the rest of the filed.

Im still not buying it...try calculating an 1100 round at any of our courses in Iowa and its hardly possible without several fairway aces..but maybe thats what theyre doing now...just throwing them in from 150 ft several times a round. Im still not sold. Im not sure you and Robinson have put together 1100 rated rounds at JB Dubs and those rounds are absolutely retarded.

Yeah the course didnt really look that difficult tbh, pretty wide open and flat. I guess paul and dave both broke the old record though, so they are getting better as well. This tournament always has had inflated ratings though.

They are also starting to adjust for actual par, not the old mind set of everything being a par 3. Since par was 60 for yesterday, shooting a 44 is ridiculous and I can see how that might be an 1100+ rated round.

It's tougher than some think. Odd angles, OB and distractions everywhere.

I agree with you. Mike makes valid points about the system, but I think it needs an overhaul. Lots of stuff has changed over the years.

Scores actually are a little different this year.

49 this year is 1074

47 last year was 1076

I'm assuming Dave shot a perfect score or was a stroke away from it.

Wow...I can see this happening and I'm actually surprised we don't see it more often esp with the rough teepads and grippy shoes we wear. I think Phil Arthur had this happen years ago.

He finished the round so I'm highly doubting he tore his acl, although i heard the same thing on the chat and dgcr.

Here is what he posted on Facebook.....

"Hey everyone, thanks for the kind words! I understand the live broadcast said that i would be withdrawing from the Memorial due to a knee injury. I did tweak my preexisting acl injury during todays round, but plan on finishing the tournament strong! Yours truly"
