33rd Wintertime Open

Postby z-man » Thu Feb 17, 2011 4:28 pm

Just perusing my competition for this weekends tournament at Oak Grove (1st course in the country I do believe)...Of 14 open players registered so far...here's a small sample of who I'm up against...Good thing its supposed to rain on Saturday...Hopefully these Cali guys don't know what do when the plastic gets wet...

Steve Rico --> 1030
Paul McBeth --> 1029
Paul Ulibarri --> 1028
Philo Brathewaite --> 1018
David Devine --> 1003

Side note...last year Nikko showed up the day before and signed up...and rumor is he's somewhere on the west coast currently...I'm trying not to psych myself out but that's some rather stiff competition right there
I want to get a vending machine with fun sized candy bars...and the glass in front is a magnifying glass. You'll be mad, but it will be too late.

According to everyone's theory on ratings, you should get 1020 rounds just for showing up in that field.

I hear he's grown up. He took a few years off DG.

DIAGF? Really Lindsley. Can we stick to mainstream message board jive. Die In A Grease Fire? Thats not even a real acronym.

Wisecup is playing Masters...He tends to own that division out here

Bobby is a great player...that dude drains 50 foot putts like they're ten footers...I played the opening round of the SoCal Championships when he shot a -10 under on the backside of La Mirada (1068 rating)...I thought he smoked the field, which he did, but he was in second place to Stevie Rico who shot a -14 under (1103 rating)...He came back to win it in extra holes though

And Clue...we'll see if the theory holds...I have the second lowest rating amongst players in my division so there's not a lot of downside risk...

Also...PDGA numbers 3 and 68 are representing this weekend...I know 68, Susie Horn...I hope I'm as cool as her and still throwin' when I'm her age...
