SSA will be 4/5 strokes higher this year! Also, tree was planted on 1's fairway....TODAY...phuckin comedy. Also Also, net put up on 17 to keep people from throwing thumbers. No Caddie book. Saturday the course was closed. Couldn't play course yesterday till afternoon. Can play tomorrow AM then course closes.

Cue the circus music.

Can't believe the course isn't/wasn't more available to the players. Can't believe they're using pure stroke and distance. But then, I can believe it.

I actually love the stroke and distance.

I think this is the first time in 10 years that I won't play the course in tournament setup. I'm a little sad. I guess.

I should have played the qualifier. 70 made it in. I think I probably could have shot 80ish. ha ha ha. A little '09 style pencil-whipping, and I'm in!

888 will be funny with stroke and distance. Will anybody throw 180-foot drives like I do there? If you play that hole conservatively, you will get a 5 or 6 every time. I'll bet lots of 980+ players average over 5.5 on it.

Mark my words. Within 5 years there will be a windmill somewhere on the course.

The net to eliminate thumbers on 17 is hilarious. I've always said you don't deserve to be playing in the USDGC if thumber is your best option on that hole. Seriously. If you can't throw putter, or forehand to the safe area, then you suck. I don't care what your rating is. Go home.

A word of advice to my Iowa friends: DO NOT TRUST THE SPOTTERS.

If there is any doubt as to the in-bounds status of your disc, declare a provisional and throw another. Also, DO NOT let the spotter touch it until you and the group look at it.

I will make a wager that my thumber will be more consistent 95% of the time over your putter or backhand whenever you get done. If your too much of a puss to be able to throw a baseball 200 ft then thumbers arent for you. BTW, all of you who cant throw them, are throwing them wrong.

QFT - cant wait to see this net on the live feed. I watched quite a bit last year and I think I saw only one person out of a dozen+ groups throw one. Ive never been there but is that only because it would guarantee getting over the haybales? Seems like the skip+ roll would go into the water every time if you threw a thumber on that hole.
