I had an e-mail convo with Mark, the TD today. Advanced will be playing Indian Hills, their best course twice this year!

Also, not that it will matter to certain people boycotting a great event due to a course that kicked their ass, they have eliminated two holes from the old Top course at Oakland, and taken two of the back course holes (13 and 14 I think) and put them on the front course to replace them. Then they put two brand new holes on the front course between holes 4 and 5. The holes they removed from the top course are the ones that play near the pool, holes 7 and 10 I believe. I think that this also eliminated the walk around the pool from hole 9 to 10. This was not their choice, but they made the best of it and made the front course a little better I believe.

Also, I found a $30 room on Priceline. It's an Econolodge, it's not that bad, and it's pretty darn close to the courses, and has a Waffle House in the same parking lot......yesssssss.sssss

Takes a deep breath ..... Gulps ..... Swallows Pride .....

I don't think I'll be going to San Diego for the Annual GIS conference this year which would‘ve had me out of town July 11-17. So I now have the weekend of July 10 - 11 free for a tourney. As much as I disliked the Old Course, I equally dislike Heritage; so with Columbia being the only other close option and the fact that the ADV are playing IH twice and only once apiece at the Oakland courses, I may be in for this one

I figure I might as well grow a pair and try to get redemption on that old slut instead of ragging on her seeing how my game and putting has drastically improved.

Indian Hills is the more difficult course, sometimes unfairly so. The back course at Oakland is still the best course.

Well I was in until I told the wife what my plans were ........ short version ...... The plan for my San Diego work trip was to leave on Sunday which my wife knew meant I wasn't going to be able to play Summerfest (Sunday) or the Mid-Am (Saturday & Sunday). So with this knowledge a few months ago she sent RSVP's for a wedding reception Friday and wedding on Saturday ...... So when I told her I was going to Columbia she said no we have 2 weddings to go to ..... FML

Yep, they'll end up with 160+. The large majority of people sign up on Friday.
