I will go back to Columbia if and only if they say they are not playing the Oakland Front Course ....... this is not due to the fact that I played like shit the one and only time I've played it; it’s due to the fact that it's a crap course (I've played like crap on a lot of courses that I think are great courses, i.e. Sioux Passage in STL). I think Tourist in Cedar Falls probably has some better holes ...... def not a tournament caliber course IMO.

It's been a long time since I've played it and I'm sure the cedars have grown up quite a bit. I wasn't thrilled with it, but I don't remember more than 1 or 2 holes being terrible. It's an old school course. The golf around here is such a grind anymore that I kind of enjoy playing some old pitch and putt now and then.

Grandview, Newton, Colfax are is a great examples of nice non-grinding courses .... hell I'll even throw in Jones in Cedar Rapids .

I get that it’s an old school course and I'm fine with that, but you also need to take care of old school courses. A defined line or a line that allows you to throw an actual golf shot would be nice. When "The Route" on over half the holes is a thumber I'm not impressed. On most of these holes if you don't have a thumber the only way to deuce is usually an unbelievable shot ...... the "Fairway" on most of these 180' - 250' holes are designed for a safe 3 ..... the problem is on this course you have to deuce almost all of them to be in the thick of it. Also a lot of the time a great shot leaves you 30' out and on the sweet Mach 1/2 baskets you get a lot of spit outs on these longer puts .

I'd say it’s a great course for super class, but nothing else really ...... the only way my opinion will change is if they took a weekend to prune the shit out of the course to make the lines more legit so you can throw actual golf shots and after that’s done get some new baskets or at least mod the chain configuration on the current ones.

Best thing IMO would be to blow up both courses and create one pimp ass 18 or 27 hole course.
