Just my opinion, but you sound a little hard headed when it comes to this. If the goal is to make a prestigious event the qualifier then this tournament isn't that bad of an idea, but you make it sound like having a high dollar, high caliber event a given when that isn't necessarily the case. Other factors could be something more accessible whether it be cheaper or more centrally located, or a smaller tournament where the qualification is the forefront of the tournament rather than some byproduct of a larger event.

That being said, a major component of electing a SC should be their views on how the qualifier would work so getting back to your point, you are exactly correct.

I never thought of it like that. My vote went to the person that showed the most promise to include the whole state in the progression of disc golf. No offense to Brett, I did vote for him and encouraged everyone I knew to do the same, but I still havent seen that.

Its a thankless job and he has done a good job, Im not suggesting otherwise.

Played the Gold and Red course yesterday. Gold is tough. 4 of us played and it took 3 hours flat, I thought it would have taken a little longer. The Red course keeps getting better and better. There are new (longer) pins and new (longer) tees are on many holes. If I were to guess, I'd guess a 1000 rated round will be 65ish on Gold and 54ish on Red.

Dave K. had a look at an Eagle 3 on Gold #8. He SMASHED 2 shots and had a 40-45 foot putt for the 3. He couldn't convert though, had to settle with a solid birdie 4.

Brian Cummings (World TD) was out there and mentioned that there will be some rope OB in a few spots, wonder if there will be any artificial OB at the A-tier?

The only rope OB I've discussed with Brian was to separate holes 2 and 14 on Red and possibly to narrow the left side of the fairway on Blue hole 6.

Here is a hypothetical pro payout with 60 Open Players and the estimated $3000 added cash we are anticipating (Currently $2500).

(60 pros X $50entry) - (60 pros x $4 pdga fee) = $2760
(This is the pro entry fee based on 60 pros @ $50 each minus the $4 per player PDGA fee.)

$2760 + $3000 = $5760 total purse.

Why the $50 fee? We don't believe you should have to pay a ton of money to play a weekend of disc golf even at major events. At this event the MPO will be playing for just as much of added cash as the entry fees. Tired of playing for each others entries?

Following based on 40% payout:

1 - 1000
2 - 700
3 - 500
4 - 375
5 - 300
6 - 275
7 - 250
8 - 225
9 - 200
10 - 185
11 - 175

16 - 130
17 - 125
18 - 120
19 - 115
20 - 110
21 - 100

Wow, 72 Open players and only 7 1000+ rated. Wish I knew the courses, but we'll see what I can pull off blind.

From what I remember they were fine but could be poke n hopes on several holes. Don't think I've played all of them though. Pretty cool the field isn't that strong but is completely full.
