12th Annual QC Ice Bowl - Feb. 20

Tournaments in the rest of the non Iowa world

I'll have scores up later, but here's what really matters:

67 registered players
6 volunteers
485 lbs of food
$1375 donated

Good job, everyone. The folks at River Bend Foodbank where thrilled when I dropped off the check this morning.

You dropped off the check already  Well, that's the cherry on the top of an awesome event!

Great job of bringing in non-disc golfing volunteers (except for Paul Roesner) to help run things.

Smoothly run, great course layout, having food on site was great, sledding down 13 was a blast... etc... etc.

My favorite quote of the day: "I like being in charge" (Brad "Orange Guy" Ellis).
"Determine that the thing can and shall be done, and then we shall find the way."

I just got a call from Cathy at River Bend Foodbank. She has been turning down kids in their backpack program. There are many children in the area who have little to nothing to eat over the weekends and the backpacks from the foodbanks provide them basic meals. She said with our substantial donation, she will be able to resume the program.

She wanted to make sure that all of you know how much it is appreciated.

That is awesome news. My dad grew up a starving poor kid and has said many times how nice it would have been if they had something like the backpack program when he was growing up. Warms your heart to know how much good a group of disc golfers can do. Way to go guys!

Kendall Davis (the boomerang guy) took a ton of pictures. He put them in a facebook album.

I won a KendallDavis Boomerang! I just tried it outside and was able to catch it on about my 5th try! The instructions included with it were perfect... couldn't have figured it out without them. Cool stuff. The dogs love it, too.
