You saw correctly.

is it dumb to just play open and get some good experience from better players?

Actually, probably a good idea. No higher cost to play open, so it's a bargain of a lesson.

That was probably the most fun I've had in a while playing! Got bogged down a little on 13, but fluid the 2nd round :) Playing in Open definitely made me learn something: gotta learn to drive with the putters; crucial.

That place was hoppin today. Great work Brad and thanks to so many people you had helping!

All the food was home-baked perfection delicious cornbread and soft cookies and crispy Rice Krispie treats and delicious yet mild chili for the masses. Wish I had gotten to play the layout, maybe I’ll try it on a slow day. I saw some cool extras like the boomerang double loop and Paul giving rides to sledders. These kind of events in Milan are always full of sweet goodies.

Quad City Ice Bowl

Updated: Feb 20, 2010 05:33 PM

We're still about a month and a half away from the official start of spring, but that's not stopping some from enjoying one of their favorite warm weather pastimes.

Dozens braved the cold and snow for a round of disc golf at Camden Park in Milan. It's all part of the annual Quad City Ice Bowl, a tournament that raises hundreds of pounds of food for the River Bend Food Bank each year. Organizers say the number of players this year doubled last year's total and that means good things for needy families.

"I keep hearing stories that it's a rough year and that they need more donations," says Tournament Director Brad Ellis. "It's a good year for us to increase our numbers and it worked out."

Ellis says Saturday's play raised almost 1,000 pounds of food.

yes it was a buzz chase, altough it was my third shot not my second as the caption says.

yeah dustin the guy was kneeling about 8 ft in front of me, made me a bit nervous and i ended up shanking the shot a bit. Between him and the tv crew guys, i think everyone on that card had someone in the way on at least one of thier shots. First hole of the day too, talk about pressure

I hear ron maid it on channel 8 news this morning. Good to see that we got a lot of media coverage, all the way to dew moines even, super cool.

Once again great job by Brad and crew!!!

Jay,
What station? NBC, ABC, CBS or Fox?
I saw video and a soundbite on Channel 6 (KWQC) Saturday night.
