Sure is. Seems everything I do is a target for scrutiny and ridicule. "Oh, you play disc golf. What are you, a jobless pot-head hippie? That's not a real sport." "Oh, ride a scooter? Are you gay? Did you get a DUI?"

Chase, did you get in any orange zephyrs?

If you get a DUI you can still ride a scooter?

Suzuki Sidekick? Geo Metro convertible? Mazda Miata?

Kind of. In Illinois (and a lot of other states) anything 50cc and under doesn't need license or insurance.

A little hard to say what the cutoff was between freestyle and golf discs, but I suppose you know it when you see it. I'm not saying the Zephyr is cheating, only that it doesn't remind me of the old days of freestyle golf. To Rodney's point, you could trick out a freestyle design with new plastic, subtle aerodynamics and whatever. If the format ever gets popular, I'm sure you'll see that. At what point are you losing the old school feel you might have been going for? Whats the use of having another high tech version of disc golf? Like F1 and Indy Car versus F1 and dirt track stock cars.

I think the Midnight Flyer was a breakthrough because it had a higher weight to diameter ratio. It's a slippery slope, right?

This makes it seem like I really care a lot. I plan to play some of this Super Class just for kicks, but I don't have a strong opinion about it. Just started rambling.

that's easy, golf discs have a beveled rim and lids do not.

The course by my house has 18 holes between 145 and 280 feet, with only 3 (I think) longer than 220. (It's wooded, so don't let the 145-180 range fool you.) It is really FUN to play with an ulty lid. I'm pretty sure longer courses would be too. Retro Walnut probably. Maybe not Pickard.

I'd say if you can throw it over 300 it's not a freestyle disc. Maybe we'll start running restrictor plate freestyle events in the future? :)

It seems to me that any disc with overstable characteristics would be suspect as a freestyle disc too. I think you can produce overstability without a bevel? Maybe I'm wrong.

That makes no sense at all. Ultimate discs can be thrown 300'
