The Memorial

Postby Clue » Thu Dec 07, 2006 6:56 pm

Who's going?

I'm likely going. When and how, I have no idea. Vegas has an A tier the previous weekend. If a decent sized group was going to that, I'd be interested in driving. I have a conversion van that would comfortably seat 6 including luggage. I'd also be interested in flying into Phoenix, renting a car, and then drive round trip to Vegas. It's about a 4hr drive if I recall correctly (each way). Possible stops on the way back would include El Canyon Grande, Hoover Dam, Sedona, and Flagstaff.

I know Fausch is in for the Memorial only. Tank seemed to lean that way as well. I haven't discussed it with Sprague, but I assume he's in for both, and it's probably a coin flip that he'll be travelling out of Iowa. I have no tangible reason to assume that though. Claring is interested in the Memorial, not sure about Vegas. I know Tanner and Steibel went last year.

Let me know what you all think.

I'm assuming you are asking about the tournament courses, not the traditional park setup. In that case its Vista in the champion 18.

Unfortunately, I don't think I'm going to make it this year. If there's anyway I can swing it, I will, but fairly certain it ain't in the cards.

Last year we did both Vegas and Phoenix, and it was a blast. I recommend the Memorial if you are thinking vacation golf.

Oh yeah, and a huge purse.
If it kills, I got news, it ain't a side effect

I may be attending this tourney. Supposed to be going down to AZ in March to visit the in-laws. So...I am trying to time it for the Memorial.

I'm fairly sure that I'll be out there again this year. Anyways, Fountains Hills is one of the coolest courses I've played. Its incredibly scenic, the mountains are right there. Theres the man-made "Ole Faithful", which ensures for a windy round. Most of the greens are incredibly dangerous; fast greens sloping towards the water. One awesome island hole, and plenty of pretty sweet elevation. Vista is sweet, and last years layout really demanded a lot out of every golfer's game. However, that land fountain hills is on is really sweet!

I can't believe that Nebraska is sending, not only more pros', but more golfers to the Memorial.

You guys are slackin...

Clue is not on the pre-registered list. No one else from Iowa besides myself and Reading's (Jay & Des) in Pro or Am??? Wow! You're all missing out! Try to go next year! :D

The correct answer is.."It's time to get live, it's time to represent."
