Old Point Challenge

Postby Gorilla Arms » Thu Sep 07, 2006 11:57 am

Hey Guys,

Sorry for the delay and such short notice, but it was published in the QC until that site disappeared and I just found this one. Anyway, I'm hosting the 1st annual Old Point Challenge this Sat Sept 9th in Savanna & Mt. Carroll, IL. Tee off starts at 10 with registration ending at 9. Please come up and play Illinois' 2 brand new courses in one day. Click here for a link to the flyer.

I hope some of you guys can make it. The morning rounds are in Savanna and the afternoon rounds are in Mt. Carroll.

We just got back form the tournament. K-Ramz got 4th in Advanced. Karma took 2nd in Int, and I took 4th in Int in a CTP Vs. Dennis Gonzalez. It was a great time and some really good courses.

Old Point Challenge Results

Postby Gorilla Arms » Sun Sep 10, 2006 7:38 pm

Well, we didn't have the numbers that we had hoped for, but the players that did show, kicked ass. Big thanks to the QC guys who came up (Paul, Kirk, Dennis, Jon). Please pass the word and if you guys want to come up north and throw a tournament or special event, just let me know.

So here we are:

Gabe got the ace on hole 6 (308 ft) in Mt. Carroll with a tight hole shot between the huge tree, the overhanging branch, and the creek. gutsy shot Gabe!!!!

Todd got the Cliff Shot CTP with an ace!!! rock on!

Advanced Results:

Todd Kulupka $100 50 48 98 -10
Carl Spray $62 48 53 101 -7
Gabe Guerrero $45 52 50 102 -6
Kirk Ramirez $33 53 52 105 -3
Frank Simmons 54 55 109 +1

We had 9 CTPs and the player pack was the World's Biggest Disc Golf Weekend Tie dye towls 2005. Am's paid out plastic for the top four places.

I hope you guys had a good time and to see you up here more often. One of these days, I'm going to get a course set up at Palisades north of Savanna. That would rock!

Dave

PS Oh I almost forgot - longest drive went to Gorilla Arms.
